What Claimpal is
Claimpal helps consumers in Portugal exercise their rights under Portuguese and EU consumer protection law. We analyse your situation against the relevant laws, generate formal correspondence on your behalf, send it from a dedicated case email address, and escalate to the appropriate regulators when a brand fails to respond.
Claimpal is not a law firm.We do not provide legal advice, and using Claimpal does not create a lawyer–client relationship. For matters that require legal counsel, consult a qualified Portuguese lawyer.
Who can use it
You must be at least 18 years old and a resident of Portugal (or another EU/EEA jurisdiction we explicitly support) to use Claimpal. You must use the service only for genuine consumer disputes about goods or services you actually purchased.
How AI is used
Claimpal uses large language models (Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini) to draft letters and analyse company replies. These models can make mistakes, including legal mistakes. Every letter we send is drafted by AI. You are responsible for reviewing every message before approving it. The default account setting holds AI-drafted replies for your review before they go out.
Acceptable use
You agree not to use Claimpal to:
- Submit fictional, exaggerated, or fraudulent claims.
- Harass, defame, or threaten any person or business.
- Circumvent rate limits, attempt to access other users' cases, or otherwise interfere with the service's normal operation.
- Submit content you do not have the right to share (e.g. someone else's personal data without their consent).
Your responsibilities
- The accuracy of the facts you provide is your responsibility.
- You review and approve every outbound letter and follow-up before it is sent. We hold AI-drafted replies for your approval by default.
- You keep your sign-in email secure. Anyone who can read your inbox can sign in to your account via the magic link.
Limitations of liability
Claimpal is provided “as is.” We make no warranty that the service will resolve your case, that AI-generated text is free from error, or that a regulator will act on a filing. To the extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for any claim arising out of your use of the service is limited to the fees you paid in the twelve months preceding the claim, or €100 if you paid no fee.
Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have as a consumer under Portuguese or EU law that cannot be excluded by contract.
Termination
You may delete your account at any time from the dashboard (“Delete my account”). We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms or where doing so is required by law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by Portuguese law. Disputes are subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Lisbon, without prejudice to the consumer's right to bring proceedings in their place of residence.
